The day of year (aka yearday of doy) is an integer index ranging from 1 (representing January 1) to 365 or 366 (representing December 12).

The ISO day of year ranges from 1 (representing the first day of the year located in the current or previous year) to 364 or 371 (representing the last day of the year located in the current or later year).
